Okay, I started like 3 games and have yet to accomplish even the slightest hint of an accomplishment. I have yet to even open a box. I have gone through just about all the controls so far with no luck. Is there a list of commands I can actually print out so I do not have to keep going to the options menu?

Pretty simple. WASD for moving, LMB and F for interacting, it should come up with a highlight for it.

I saw the basics. The box top was highlighted and had "Open" part. None of the buttons worked with opening it. None of the tools worked on it. I dropped a few by accident while cycling through and was unable to pick them back up. Unless it might just not have installed correctly or something?

On the flipside, according to the counter, it never dropped below 260 FPS and often lingered around 320 lol.

Just for ♥♥♥♥♥ and giggles I tried my numberpad and 2 on there seemed to open the container.
I also uninstalled and reinstalled right before. Would be so much easier if there was a sticky with all the controls listed. Screen shot didn't work as well.

You have two active slots, left hand and right hand. Keys 1-5 open helmet, suit, pack, uniform, and belt. Once you open one of those slots using the mousewheel scrolls through your choices, and " F " selects the highlighted choice. Say for example you hit 5 to open your tool belt, you scroll with your mouse wheel to highlight the tool you want..press " E " to switch what hand you want to equip the tool in one of the hands will already be selected though, and then press " F " to select the tool to that hand. Sometimes when interacting with an object you need an empty hand to do so. The controls are a bit tough to learn but once you get it down it flys.

The control system is autistic and takes a bit of time to get used to. You'll get there.

Reset your controls to default, 2 is not the default for primary action

You might be running into that bug where people's controls get all messed up and the mouse button isn't set as primary action. Just left clicking on the container's top when it says open should have opened it. I saw something somewhere about deleting the user.cfg file for the game to fix the issue and reset the controls. Not sure where that file is located, maybe under "Documents \ My Games \ stationeers" folder.

I changed nothing, so everything IS at default, anything that is there is what is was.

What tutorial? I didn't see any? I saw Survival and Creative and something that was coming soon. Where is it?

Thanks for the info VegasGoat, that might be it if there is a fault somewhere. Will look into the deleting of the file to correct it, I know a few others have had like issues and has worked.

Found the tutorial, seems it only loaded the first time. I had to quit out as I got stuck a few times.

You need to reset your control mapping to default. Sounds like your mouse0 button is incorrectly mapped.

Yeah, I deleted the XML file in the doc and seemed to work right.
In hopes I can get through the tutorial and the rest should be golden.

But yet you didnt play thru the five minute tutorial which would teach you 99.9% of everything you need to know to be succesful.
