Can you hook a Stacker to a computer?
I cannot seem to figure out how to connect a stacker to computer

I have a computer with manufacturing board (hopefully this is the right board)
the stacker has data/power single outlet

I can't seem to figure out what a stacker is really for. Enlighten me? But as for your question, the manufactering board is for controlling the fabricator, so it's probably not the right one. is there a logistics or network motherboard?

you can stack ores and volatiles in those stackers. my idea (im still early game) is to use 4 stackers along with chutes and output specific amounts to a furnace using a computer.

Im hoping this is possible because splitting stacks of ore one by one is painful as hell.

ahh that may be possible. The last time I tried to use a stacker I was trying to use it to hold my metal bars, but it maxed out at 500g (the max size of one bar) but a crafting station can hold multiple bars and multiple types, so I didn't see a use for it. I never bothered to use it for the furnace or hooking it to a computer.

looks like if I use a logic board, I could create some commands for the stacker since I can see the stacker device from the PC.

or maybe there is a "switch" item I could use?
I haven't checked all the available items in this game yet

there's also a "sort" motherboard that might work too

Stacker is good for make packs of products. With this device you will not see hills of coils, frames, plates, tubes...

oh great idea. but what happens to products that you make that can't be placed in your inventory, like portable lights and tank mounts and stuff like that?

I haven’t an answer. Need to experiment.

I tried it, and if there's nothing in the stacker, it immediately spits it out. It doesn't block it so that's good.

That is the wrong board, this is for the fabrictor only, if inserted you see a message that it needs a fabricator, only board that reads the stacker is the Logic Board, and gives the same options as logic chips.

Also the readout of Logic is pretty buggy and in complete, there is no way to read out the amount of items in the stacker for now, so you need to make a circuitry that remembers every single input, store it in memory and add next input to make some for of counter, unlike the ARC that can send the amount of its inventory to the circuitry.

I made a guide on stacker automatisation, and sadly getting more out of it isnt really working, or i'm missing something, but ever error handling of stackers doesnt seem to work wel.

For now imho they are automation wise buggy pieces of crap that will give you automated system problems tht will give you a serious headache.

yeah that's pretty much what I figured out as well. I use them to separate metal bars but that's about it now.

I've spend two days to perfect the useage for my automatisation system, s mentioned i wrote a small guide for this, but its less from perfect.
I tried nearly every sollution i could think of, but nothing seems to work really, and changing items without really checking if there arent still items in the stacker input, can cause the system to clog up badly, and you need to remove the stacker and place it back, adjust logics again, all by all they are a pain in the but, and i cannot recommend to anyone for now in their current state to use them in automatisation processes.

But if anyone finds a way in their current state to make them fool proof operated, please let me know how you managed it.

I even tried using them to store output from my machines, but any time you need to flush the bars it clogs the system and you need to pick the stacker up and place it back down. I can't currently find an automated use for them in their current state either.
