What's the steamcmd default directory?
Greetings,

I was installing a linux dedicated server with steamcmd. I neglected to first set a directory with force_install_dir. I went back and did so, then installed it properly. Seems to be working.

So does anyone know where steamcmd installed the files? I'm on a VPS with Ubuntu 16.04 64bit. Just want to do a little clean up and remove the files that I installed in an unintended place!

In case anyone is also looking for it, forcing install directory should install the files in /home/user/.steam/steamcmd/[thedirectoryyouforced].

If not forcing a directory, I find that things show up at
~/Library/Application\ Support/Steam/steamapps/
on my Mac laptop. (I use SteamCMD to play some Windows-only games: eg Rift Wizard as explained here https://gist.github.com/jamesgecko/77439c5124a0b1c3d074f826884e3441 .)
