How do I build stairs?

I know it seems stupid but I just cant find how to build stairs at the start. Without stairs it is very difficult to access the base door for me D:

Stairs don't exist in the future. They were outlawed.

I'm pretty sure you need to fabricate them later on.

I've seen this problem on multiple servers tonight. People put the iron frames (the foundation) one square too high. You need to build it into the ground, so you dont have to jump up.

XD seriously? I mean I saw Dean constructed stairs without problem in the dev stream, but really?

Alright, thanks guys, guess i need to start with another world and not waste all my beginning materials building high foundations

Just push the foundation into the ground. It's not that hard.

Then grind away any excess dirt that is covering the frames.

You can fabricate a stairs kit with 10g iron. This has been done through the fabricator however is being updated to be created via the autolathe - so it will depend on which version you are playing. If you're not sure, you can check the recipe on the tablet.

I believe you need a hand drill (not the one you have at the start)? I dont know how to do that either XD

ah i got it.. theres another tool belt for mining equip in the back...

Yup, you can use a mining drill or a pick axe to obtain ore from veins. The pick axe will be slower but doesn't require power. Both are located in the mining belt (you spawn with this in your pack and can swap it with your tool belt)

i think i need to restart (again)... i use a solar panel connected to the furnace, but i cant smelt the ore.. it just turns off after 1s smelting... and i dont have any cables/wires left to power other stuff -.-

You start with a power controller, which can act sorta like a UPS. You put a battery cell in it (you start with a spare one of those, too), hook up your solar panel to the input, and power your devices from the output. The solar panel charges the battery, and the battery cell helps buffer the demand from your devices.
