Thanks for the reply. No I don't get a black screen. Nothing at all happens. Steam game list shows text next to title says " running" for 2 or 3 secs, then "synching" very briefly then nothing.

I get the same thing. It does not launch at startup. States syncing for 1sec then nothing.

Seems we all have the same issue. I made a refund on the game and will be going for the Switch-version instead since I was leaning between these two versions anyway. Guess I'll pay som FPS for that portability (and the fact that the game actually works as well).

I tried to re-download all the files but it says 1 file is MISSING. I think its the .EXE

Is there any sign of any progress on a resolution to this game fails to start? I can't play the game and there has been no update in here or any other thread.

Thanks a lot. Very useful info. Whether I really want to install that IMO POS on my machine just to play this one game is another matter.... Other games don't generally need this, so why this one??

Also quite why the so called Dev who was posting here saying that he was going to help and get the team involved to look into it the following day couldn't get back to us with such basic info & help is beyond me. Very poor support from them to be sure. Shame on YOU, supposed support guy! /-(

Hey folks! Sorry for the radio silence - been incredibly busy on this end trying to find out the root cause of the issue as well as many others, so thanks for the patience! :).

So, what we have identified at the moment is that some users are having this issue with a DLL missing "MFReadWrite.dll" - this can be confirmed by trying to launch the executable outside of Steam directly.

This is related to Windows Media Player codec which for some reason is running our company splash screen videos. With that said, we're looking into ways we could potentially improve this so that users don't experience this issue!

It is truly ridiculous that you still could not provide a ssolution to this problem. As the developer of the game you should be able to do that....

So here is the solution if you can accept that Microsoft media ♥♥♥♥ at your computer:
If your system is up-to-date, you'll need to install this feature pack:

For older Systems that don't have the anniversary update installed you have to search for an older package.... there are some available.
