What I'm saying is that since finishing a game can be done in less than ten minutes (and under three minutes in a lot of cases, actually), the lack of suspend save is not that big of a deal if you organize yourself differently.
Like other people in this thread, when I started the game I did think playthroughs could take a little too long, but that was until I tried time trial and realized how quickly you could be done with levels if you limited yourself to their mandatory elements. The levels are actually organized really cleverly so that they're fun in time trial and they're also fun if you're looking to collect everything.
The realization that I could easily have shorter sessions solved my problem entirely, hence why I suggested it here. Just like I suggest people use Steam's Big Picture mode to invert gamepad camera axis individually since the game doesn't give you that option: it'd be better if it were in the game and obviously I'm not against the option (why on Earth would I be), but there is a simple workaround and it's therefore not a real issue.
And the reason why this conversation is still going on is because people answer to me, so I answer back. And since I think some counterarguments are silly, I say they are silly. I'm sorry if this was perceived aggressively, obviously this topic's request is a legitimate request (and it's not up to me to decide that sort of thing anyway), it's just that, again, it's actually not that big of a deal if you first pick the keystones, then pick whatever items you feel like picking, then end the level when you've had enough.
In fact, I'd even have a suggestion that would fix everything without developers having to bother with changing the game too much (because suspend save isn't easy to add to a game after it's already done): after you've completed a level once, just remove the requirement to pick up the keystones, and make the player be able to end a level just by going through the end portal. There, problem fixed with extremely few work, which would make it much more likely to be patched in eventually.
That way, you could still have fun picking up the keystones in time trial, and after you finish a level 100%, the items could come back in another form so you enjoy going through levels again without deleting your save, which is actually a feature that should be there (but also not a big deal).
Does it have a Save & Quit yet?
Sadly not :(
Agreed
Come on devs, make an update!
For the Switch too since I have it there ;)
I'am very disappointed in the developers.
Agreed. Made a mistake as well, sometimes you just assume these kind of features are in place however sadly not the case on this occasion.
Seriously, if you are playing this game, you have to commit to it .... and that is a bad idea.
Exactly, as a fellow father, similar experiences here.
Game is good, but what keeps it from being great is the HORRENDOUS CAMERA and the TERRIBLE saving system.
