How to use the wormhole extraction device? Cant get it to work, using xbox controller

Im using an xbox contoller. i think I have it equipped in one of my gear slots and I bring it up on the screen. When I use my right button to toss it, like you would a molotov, it goes onto the gound but then nothing happens. Ive tried throwing it on dead sheep and wanderers, but nothing happens. What am I doing wrong. The device symbol is shaped like a diamond, right? They seem to automatically replenish when I got back to base.

So how do I use it? Is it meant for just using on dead animals and Wanderers, or can you also use it to transport things like wooden boxes etc?

Once you have the Worm hole extraction device, equip it in your equipment (change equipment) it has its own slot under the air tank.. once you back stab a creature you can then use the extraction on it before it fully dies... for animals you have to CROSS PUNCH them (run punch) knocks them down then use it.. dead animals dont count.

The only place you can use the wormhole extraction is when

-You backstab the wanderer instead of depleting it's HP to 0 by using weapon
-You stun the animals instead of killing them (Just dash punching the animal to stun them immediately)
-You see one of the "massive kuban energy detected" sidequest and there's this container which can be teleported.

And also, I don't think there's a limit on how much you can fulton, so no worries about running out of fulton device

Thanks. That makes sense. I was able to use it a couple of times tonight and did not understand why. I had back stabbed some mobs.

So what is that item that I was throwing down on the ground and it seemed to do nothing? The icon looks like a diamond. It replenishes itself when I got back to base.

I think the items I was tossing were crystals that you use as a distraction. I found something on that, sounds like what it is.
