Is This Game Actually Good?
Put aside the Kojima and Konami drama, and tell me if this game is actually good or not. It's hard to find an honest take on this game because any thing good people have to say about it is inevitably overshadowed by the drama.

The game is great but it has a lot of problems if you come into it thinking Metal Gear. It's called that for plot reasons but little of MGS5 is here as a whole. The real meat of the game is online which is just a horde mode, but the gameplay loop is *just* enough that it keeps being fun. And the single player is essentially like a Red Dead style of play since everything happens on the map, you don't load into areas or anything like that unless for very specific missions related to plot.

MP is dead for quick play, so you'll need to either join a specific group like the reddit sub/discord or the steam group chat. Right now it's a tad slow since it's holidays but it's still very well alive and you can find a group to play with. https://discord.com/invite/qhB2Pvm

It's a good game with it's only issue being this that it was a low budget type game.

The survival mechanics are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, your food and water drains so fast you have to keep eating and drinking non stop, and if you stop - you die (and respawn at 25%).

I find the game unplayable because of this. If you could turn that off then yeah, would love to play more of it as the gameplay is actually fun.

it's a good game, pretty rocky start at first but it scratches the open world collectathon itch if you play games like genshin, etc.

Trust me. Once you get the hang of it, it will get better. Be sure to reconfigure the buttons so that you can run, dodge, punch and shoot easily. Running punch is best friend to stagger enemies then quickly get behind and finish it off with a backstab.

You need to complete the story as fast as you can...forgot which chapter but eventually you can get some potatoes, pot recipe to boil water. You can revisit previously explored area to get sources. i don't remember if the goat cage is post game or not...
but you can get a lot of cool stuff after completing the game. There are post game bosses you can fight against.

I kind of wish the staff show more interaction around the base. I mean they help water plants, harvest crops and etc. but I wish they would have more interaction. Once we get people they just basically hang around the base and show little interaction.

It would be cool if the staff actually help you actively defend the base.
