Subclass skills not enabled
I unlocked sub classes, selected some skills in Scout subclass, assigned those skills to the top 3 areas but I still dont see those classes working for my character. I have gone back numerous times to ensure I have selected the skills and assigned the skills in the Skill Trainer but they still dont show up for my character. Such as when you join a multi player salvage and see someone elses skills in the bottom right of their portrait, my area is still blank even though I have selected skills..... any ideas? Is there a more specific menu I am supposed to be in to assign skills???? Totally confused and thanks for the help!

nah man, that's your bad.
It's a pretty bad menu system. My 5 month old daughter could've designed it better.

did you put points into the skill?
you know you put points into the skills because the star below the skill turns yellow.
example, Scout has Consecutive Backstab for 1 point.

In the first menu you have to assign a sub-class aswell. button is G i think.

Which first menu? The skill menu, main menu? Thank you.

You can't activate them till you are level 35 in the base class I believe. Once you hit 35 you should be able to select one of the classes in the first menu to activate. Also make sure the skills are equipped up top in the subclas submenu.

I have assigned skill points, yes I see a star below the selected skill.

I go to Skill Trainer
I have improved class Scout
Assigned skills to "Skills in effect"
Do not know what to do next to allow my "Skills in effect" to be in effect????

You have to press G on your subclass of choice in the same menu where you level up.

OK Got it! You have to select Change Sub Class, putting skills and selecting skills is not enough. From the menu where you see all your sub classes you have to go the the subclass you want and select "Change Sub Class" because I use a controller on PC it was the X button for me. Once the Sub Class is selected the class will be highlighted in bright yellow.

Friggin A they need to fire their menu designer, this could not have been harder to figure out!

It's a pretty bad menu system. My 5 month old daughter could've designed it better.
