here's how they could make a great MGS story about MSF soldiers...

if you remember mission 22 from MGSV, there was a mother-base invasion by the misterous mercs organization called Mosquito Stinger Force. The leader of this group is Mosquito, former MSF soldier who survived the events of Ground Zero. He broke off from Big Boss and Kaz being convinced for years that clean-up squad will come after him and finish the job as uknown source made him believe it was Big Boss's fault and initiative to attack the MSF base. He spent many years in planting the revenge and building his own private military organization in order to find and destroy Big Boss.

That could be a great storyline if Konami gave a funk about being a bit more lore-friendly.

And it's a terrible idea, it just sounds like it will be a COD like TPP.

Idea sounds good in theory but people would complain about Konami using "obvious" route. Not to mention that Survive at least does cannonically make itself non cannon (which is interesting time loop usage imo). So it doesn't even have to be lore friendly.

Stealth-action, just like in previous MGS games. Story-wise, you trying to build your own military group, doing war contracts to raise the money and all that, training your soldiers the way you were trained by Big Boss, dealing with unknown source of information about Big Bosses betrayal (pretty sure it was Cipher though) and trying to find him to finally bring the revenge at his door-steps. Not to mention that bio of this character has a lot of drama in itself for the story-sake and drama is very important for MGS in general. MGS is really a military drama stealth-action game if someone didn't know that.

thank you and i'm not think that this route is obvious actually. I bet noone even remember this guy from Phantom Pain. And even if some people would complain - their complaints would not be as established as they are now.

MG Survive takes place after MSF disaster\Ground Zero events. Mosquito survived those events.

At least watch entire story on the youtube or something, it does make itself non cannon by the events you experience in game. Its also why game begins with your character being dead after whole Mother Base attack.

If this is how much people complain and troll a spin off, how badly would they have done it for a solid installment.

Its kinda weird that people come to conclusion that game's actually canonical when storywise survive actually explain why whole survive didn't happen to begin with. Its interesting way to make spin off in my opinion.

sorry, i can't watch the whole story on youtube but i judge from what i see. Ofcourse it's not cannon, devs said it many times and in the beginning game says something like "alternative view on the story of MGS". But still it uses events of Ground Zero as foundation. It ♥♥♥♥♥ with the cannon.

Once again, Survive itself explains why it didn't happen to begin with. You are dead character by the time TPP happens. It doesn't interfere with events in main series at all. If you watched mentioned story or even cared to begin with... you would know why its non cannon (and its not due to devs saying its non cannon, its due to events in game which make it non cannon in clever way).
