Time limit

So after chapter 20 the game speaks of a 11 day time limit; anyone gotten that far can tell me if that is actually a thing or is it for narrative purposes? I'd like to take my time with the preparations if possible

I pretty sure it is "time limit" for sake of plot, because i just progressed story within 1 in-game day to point when they tell "Oh boy, 70%(like 8 in-game days) passed"
