"Let the Slay Ride Begin!”

We hope you’re all enjoying or will be enjoying Dead Rising 4 shortly! While we hope all of our fans will have a great time with the game, there will always be some cases here and there where the game may not function correctly under certain environments and / or hardware combinations. With that said, we’ve set up this feedback thread for you all to share any technical issues you may be having with the game. We’ll use this thread as a central repository for tracking these problems, and pass on the information gathered here to the development team so they can investigate and work on a fix.

Please note that this thread is reserved for reporting issues with the PC/Steam version of Dead Rising 4, and not for the Windows 10 Store version.

Before providing any reports, please ensure you've followed the steps below to rule out problems with your PC, Steam or the game’s files:

  • Please ensure you meet the minimum requirements for the game, outlined here; if you do not meet the minimum requirements for the game, this may result in poor framerate, or the game not running. Please note that some high end integrated graphics chips and modern laptop class discrete GPUs may work, but have not been tested, nor are they officially supported by Capcom. If you do meet the minimum specifications but not the recommended specifications, you may want to try turning down the graphics settings, if you haven't already. If you’re experiencing performance issues while using a multi-GPU setup such as NVIDIA’s SLI or ATI’s Crossfire technologies, we recommend experimenting with disabling these settings, as they may cause compatibility issues with the game.
  • Check your Anti-Virus software
  • Some AV software may trigger a false-positive situation and flag certain executables from running. You can temporarily disable the AV software to see if the game behaves differently. If the game runs when AV is turned off, that means you'll need to create an exception rule to Dead Rising 4.
  • If you are encountering issues related to video playback with the game, this could be due to a missing Windows Media Player codec, which the game requires. Please ensure the appropriate version of Windows Media Player[support.microsoft.com] is installed on your system. Windows 10 N and KN Edition users will need to download the following Media Feature Pack[www.microsoft.com].
  • Ensure game files are intact using Verify Game Cache


1) From your Steam Library list, right-click on Dead Rising 4and select Properties.
2) Click the LOCAL FILES tab.
3) Click "Verify Integrity of Game Cache..." and allow the validation process to run its course.

Please disable or shut down your anti-virus while this process runs.

This process allows the Steam client to scan every single file you downloaded for this game, verify checksum of each, and compare that against the file manifest data on Steam's content server. If the file is missing or has a different checksum value, you will receive a message stating "X files failed to validate and will be reacquired." What this means is that some files have either been deleted, or may have been corrupted. Click “Close,” and Steam will automatically download and / or replace the problem files.

Reinstalling your video card drivers
We also recommend making sure you have the latest drivers for your graphics card. Some high end integrated graphics chips and modern laptop class discrete GPUs may work but have not been tested, nor are they officially supported by Capcom.

If you still experience crash issues, you may want to try performing a clean installation of the driver set. This will remove any extraneous driver DLL files or game profiles that existed with the previous driver installation.

IMPORTANT! Lastly, please don't forget to reboot Windows upon completing the driver installation. This will help reinitialize the driver and the graphics card using the new driver.

Resolving any potential in-game gameplay-related bugs
In the event the bug you are reporting is related to gameplay, please try the following steps prior to reporting your issue:

1. Pause the game and go to "Reload last checkpoint".
2. Pause the game and quit to the main menu, then go into Story and continue
3. Pause the game and quit to the main menu, then go into Story, then Case Select and begin the start of the case
4. Close down the game and re-launch it from the Steam client, then go into Story mode and continue.

If you still experience poor framerate, “slow motion” effects, crashes, or other issues, please help the dev team by providing detailed information below.

The more samples and data points we receive, the better we are able to narrow down and determine the root cause of these problems. Here’s what we need:

A) Your System Specs
1) CPU name & model
2) Name / model of the desktop or laptop (if available)
3) Graphics card / chip model and the amount of VRAM
4) Video driver version number
5) System memory size
6) OS version (Windows 7, 8, 10, 64-bit/32-bit, etc.)
7) Anti-virus software name and version

Please make special note in your specs if you are running Windows "N" and "K" editions that do not come with Windows Media Player.

A good deal of this information, such as the graphics card model and VRAM, are available by running a DxDiag report. For more information on how to run this report, click here.[www.fuzeqna.com] Sharing this with your bug report, along with any screenshots or video would be greatly appreciated!

B) Specific issue

Please share your specific issue and the location(s) where you’re experiencing the issues – for example, if you’re having problems with the framerate, is it happening constantly, or is it during certain cutscenes, during gameplay, etc. The following information can greatly help as well:

  • What time did your issue occur (please include your time zone)?
  • What case / chapter were you playing when the issue occurred?
  • What was your character doing when this issue occurred?
  • Were you playing in Single Player or Multiplayer?
    [*}Did the issue resolve itself when you reloaded your game to the last checkpoint and/or rebooted the game?
  • Please also attach any screenshots or video of your issue, preferably via a Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive link.

C) Detailed reproduction steps, if consistently reproducible
This step particularly is very useful for the development team. The more detailed info you can provide, the quicker the team can reproduce the error state and (hopefully) fix the issue.

dont work the game dont open i am sad, if this not solve i will want my money come back
My game is crashing while steam ist starting this game.
When im starting it from E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\DeadRising4 there is a missing dll
:"api-ms-win-crt-convert-l1-1-0.dll"
My Pc:

i7-2600 Cpu @3.40GHz
RAM:6gb
Graphic card: Gtx 750 ti
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

Hello, I have a bug with the 'Upgrade Exo Suit' objective in case 3.

Steps to reproduce:
1. The User enters gamepley during the 'Defeat Obscuris Soldiers' objective and runs into the house where Blackburne is.
1a. This is located in the Jox Family house in the Mountain Ridge Estate in West Ridge.
2. Before the cutscene with Vick and Blackburne the User equips the Exo suit and upgrades it with the Ice power up.
3. The User defeats the Obscuris troops and triggers the cutscene with Vick and Blackburne.
4. After this, the User is tasked with equipping and upgrading an Exo Suit.
5. The User observes that the checkpoint marker is hovering above Frank and they cannot progress any further.
6. The User pauses the Title and selects 'Load from last Checkpoint'

Result:
The User can now equip the Exo Suit but the Ice Power Up is not where it should be and there are no other options in the house to upgrade the suit. Without this, the User is effectively trapped within the house, unable to progress.

Expected result:
The Title should either respawn the Ice Power Up or offer a choice of power ups to the User to prevent this blocker.

Are there any console commands I can use to either skip an objective or spawn in an Ice Power Up? Or do I actually have to start the entire game over?

there is a zombie pic thx to the agies vip hair sallon but i cant find it i think its a bug
Capcom! We need a patch please, to support older CPUs and SSE 4.1!
My Game crashes always after Cutscenes and Videos...it didnt happen when i Skip them.
pls fix this issue! Ingame i got my 80-100 frames

Much random stutters on win7 i5 cpu because the cpu usage randomly jumps to 100% even when there literally is nothing going on in front of me. No matter what settings I use..will there ever be a patch to fix that???
