i think it's mediocre and borderline insult to previous dead rising games. Check the next videos they perfectly explain what went wrong with this title.

Then the price, sure it's not that expensive and it's on sale right now but for agame with such mixed reviews i wouldn't ask for more than DR1 or DR2 price, it should be cheaper.
Finally this thing still has DRM Denuvo on it, Capcom usually removes denuvo once a game has reached it's peak and sales start dropping, when the hype has finished just like they did with resident evil 7, resident evil 8 village and the remakes, still, this game, DR4 won't let denuvo go and i assume this is because capcom won't bother removing it since the game is pretty much abandoned and barely anyone has interest playing it.
DR1, DR2 and DR off the record are pretty good imo, i haven't played DR3 but i watched many videos and looks fine, you should play the very 1st DR games and skip this one but up to you also i think the DR4 story is not related to DR3 but i could be wrong.
I played ALL Dead Rising games, some of them i played in a past and some of them this year (DR2 and OTR i replayed since I played them in 2011). I finished DR1, liked it, finished DR2 and OTR, liked it, DR3 I loved and now I'm playing DR4. It's okay I guess, but Frank's character suck - not only he's not like Frank from DR1 but he's also a hypocrite and just an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Story is meh, too many retcons or changes.
Denuvo surprised me too, but like you said DR4 is abandoned since it's mediocre at best thanks to Capcom, so they wont remove Denuvo.
I bought on sale so I didnt got ripped off but Im not saying Im loving it. It's cool I guess and I usually play 2 hours per day so It doesnt tire me but Im definetely have less fun then with previous games.
BTW, I cant believe they removed weapons locker from DR3. Man, looking for ingredients for combo weapons suck.
That CrowBCat comparison is a bit outdated because they did some fixes after seeing it, like adding reactive bodies and some new survivor missions, but it still sucks.
Story is bad, gameplay is okay but feels broken and just doesn't feel up to par with 3 and 2.
Gameplay is okay at best, but I didnt had that much fun. That, and Exo Suit sucked
Just bring a vehicle into the arena and sit in it while it burns - he'll kill himself with his own crazy-strong attacks.
just the fact that they removed the coop campaign on a game like this that just feels like it was made for coop is so sad
I cant believe they fu-c-ked this franchise this bad
If you ignore the games legacy as part of the Dead Rising series, you can at best enjoy this game as a generic zombie-killing open world title. Don't expect any deep mechanics, enjoyable story, or anything of that nature. If you can turn off your brain and kill zombies in a slightly better than mediocre open world, you'll find your money's worth with this game.
It sucks DR4 is what it is, but after playing and finishing it I agree with others, its's painfully mediocre.
