15 bucks still worth getting it?
I loved the first DR and enjoyed the second never played three. I know this one was a flop but I wound't mind having a mess around game or is it not even worth it for that.

not even worth that, this game is a mere husk of what once was a great game series, the majority of the combo weapons are copy/paste and unimaginative.
you can't throw melee weapons anymore, there's recycle animation for almost everything.
there's a lot more in my review, in case u want to know more.

the ports bad too

Its not that bad, just game mechanics are weird and yeah animations were recycled a lot but I enjoyed it as an addition to the franchise. I didn't beat it, but it still was fun messing around in. I mistakenly paid full price but I def think its worth the sale.

I'd say get it when Capcom offer you 15 bucks to take it!

honestly its the worst in the series BUT if you want to just slaughter a ♥♥♥♥ ton of zombies its pretty fun. i recommend using the xbox game pass instead of buying it though. its.... $5 or $10 a month on PC so just do that pay for a month then cancel it if you dont like the other games on it
AWPC Aug 17, 2019 @ 10:52pm
Yeah its well worth it but the game is now free if you signup for Xbox Game Pass for PC!

Very well worth it, just don’t buy the dlc. It’s all awful and I regret spending $10 on the Season Pass.

Frank Rising was horrendous and this is coming from someone that loved this game.

I paid $18 for this game and I don’t regret it at all. I love the first two, didn’t like the third one, but I love this one. It’s a nice change of pace and I enjoyed the gameplay very much. I clocked 20 hours during my first play through and I plan on doing another later on. I finished the first play through at level 63.

Case Zero was a nice $5 prequel to the second game.

Case West was fairly boring and it was recognized as the true ending. So the Overtime mode with TK was later non canon. It did offer nice co op and replay value for $10. However, PS3 and Steam users had the TK ending to get since Case West was a 360 exclusive, wow.

The problem with DR4 is that you have one ending, a cliffhanger, where Frank dies and that’s your ending unless you get Frank Rising. You don’t even have an alternative choice.

Not just that but Frank Rising was absolutely terrible. Gameplay wise, plot wise, etc. To get the good ending, you have to collect every Wasp and I was a person that did quite a number, but raced to the final mission.

I felt underpowered to everyone, even looters, and as ridiculous as it sounds, Frank being the “Perfect” zombie all along was horrible writing. I also hated how he was like the guy from Shaun Of The Dead that could talk and eat Human flesh. This reminded me of Marvel Zombies.

I would have much rather preferred an Overtime mode like the first one had where you and the others have to find a way out of Willamette cause you have two days until the bombs are coming.

Seriously ? One hour and thirty minutes til’ the bombs come at the start of Frank Rising ? So we go from no timer to one that is even more strict than the timers in the first game. Gotcha.

$10 for content that has no replay value, was very boring and repetitive, you never feel like Calder, only way to get health back is to feast when health should regenerate on its own. Talking zombie Frank was laughable at best on paper, three repetitive movesets, unsatisfying endings and to get ending S, you have to do all of the bonus objectives to get wasps.

Any flak that Frank Rising gets is deserved. It’s the worst dlc I’ve ever bought and I’d give it a 1/10 as its abysmal.

Well Capcom are known for scummy stuff. Actually DR5 was being made by a different team than Capcom Vancouver cause after the third and fourth game, Capcom lost faith in CV. DR5 would have been very much like the first two and everything like realistic combo weapons, saving survivors to one area, realistic psychopaths, a timer, etc, were all returning. Now the project is in limbo and it’s in the dark right now.

Yeah having Case Zero And Case West as 360 exclusives were poor choices. Even then they were worth the money.

Off The Record was a terrible cash grab, especially at $40 for a reskinned game.

This dlc also didn’t benefit in any way with people going into it and knowing that Frank would be returning as a zombie. Even people like me that liked the game up until the final cutscene saw this as in poor taste.

What puzzles me is how DR2 was so well received and loved that Capcom welcomed Blue Castle Games and rebranded them as Capcom Vancouver. Then they made the third and fourth games that were opposite of the first two entirely.

personally i think dead rising 3 is the best one overall. tons of zombies on screen at once, tons of great weapons, theres still a timer to worry about but its more flexible allowing you to slaughter more without worrying too much and then theres nightmare mode if you wanted to play DR3 like the older games

What’s interesting is the last two games were polarizing to people.

I loved the fourth game and the first two, but didn’t like the third one.

1. The map was awful and annoying to navigate.

2. Vehicle handling was really bad and you could cause a car to flip easily.

3. There were too many zombies and they became a chore to navigate through. The first two and fourth had the right amount.

4. I ignored many Survivor quests cause they were boring fetch quests.

5. Case files also weren’t fun to do. They were diverse in the first two, but in this one, they were boring fetch quests.

6. The final mission for S Rank ending was very tedious and boring. There were so many zombies that Chuck and I must have ditched a hundred cars cause they kept catching fire.

7. The psychopaths themselves were awful stereotypes that were nonsensical.

I finished one play through of the third game at level 32 and I’m in no hurry to get back to it.

I payed about 3-4 euros for it and I regret it.

Not only because it's an terrible port and wasn't working for me at all after installing it, but even when I tried it on my friend's PC, it was a mess. I haven't played it for long, so I can't tell much about it, however the worst thing for me was, that you can no longer grab any of the object to use it as a weapon. I loved Dead Rising 2 just for it's atmosphere and this feature. Running around an colorfull mall, some relaxing music in the background, tons of different items to pick up and use as a weapon, tons of zombies on the screen. As my friend said, there is some fun in it, the story is decent, new location, new weapon combos, well all that stuff like in previous games, but with less fun and less "sandbox" style of gameplay.
I'm still playing Dead Rising 2: Off the Record sometimes just because of how fun it is to fight hordes of zombies in an toy store with a chair I just picked up. Even the first game is better than this.

I would recommend to watch this video to anyone who is interested in DR4:
