Game Performance?
I bought this late last year on the Windows 10 store, but the games performance really only got worse with every new area I went to. The mall was fine, the first section of the city was starting to see issues, and by the second section, it was just not very playable. I got a refund and waited for a steam release and now a sale.

I should be able to run the game fine, but I was checking to see if the game improved since then and what the consensus was generally with the games performance before I grab it on the sale.

Real question is has your hardware improved?

It has not, but it should run the game fine as it's above the minimum requirements. The game didn't even seem to look particularly any better than Dead Rising 3, but I ran that just fine.

If it was windows store then it likely forced triple buffering Vsync. Might have more luck with this version if you disable Vsync all together.

How above are we talking?

What cpu/gpu/ram?

Should run the pretty well at 1080p I'd think. Does recommend an i7 for the cpu but I wouldn't think it would make that big of a difference. The GPU and ram meet the recommended requirements.

Well I might take my chance then. I'll just try to hurry to the city setting so that I can see how my performance is so I can make it under the 2 hour mark.

Maybe lower the settings down a notch and disable Vsync.

Though windows store should of used triple buffering by default which is a form of Vsync that doesn't drop fps as much as normal vsync. The trade off is it renders a few frames ahead adding noticeable lag. It makes things like fps harder to play but for something like Dead Rising 4 it shouldn't be that big of a deal. Find triple buffering easier to deal with with a controller then kb&m.

Brings me to my next suggestion. If it runs funky try enabling triple buffering through Nvidia control panel.

Honestly it doesn't make sense that the game performs poorly on your system. Least not to the point of being unplayable. Might just require the right tweaking.

How's the game working out for you?
Kamakura Jun 24, 2017 @ 1:46pm
It's actually running fine and I didn't even have to alter any settings, so if anything minor does come up, I have plenty of leeway to adjust the options. I hurried to get to the main city area and where I was getting varied and questionable performance before, it's reasonably smooth. It definitely seemed like a specific issue to the Windows 10 release.

Nice. Didn't make sense that it would run poorly on your setup.
this game is shredding my cpu probably xD

I had the Windows 10 release too. It ran like ♥♥♥♥. The beginning area was fine, solid 60FPS on high settings but then as soon as I hit the mall the performance was terrible. Stutter, stutter, stutter, FPS below 30, horrible dynamic resolution forced on(Like the ♥♥♥♥ show that was Quantum Break) and shadows were missing when you turned Dynamic Resolution off. Even with it on the performance no matter the settings or resolution would be terrible, stutter everywhere and drops in performance across the board.

I might pick it up and see if the STEAM version is better but I'm not confident. I also have a better system than the OP so I shouldn't really be having such a miserable time with the game.

Hope STEAM version fixed the ♥♥♥♥ show.
