Make a Skin of Turma da Monica! This game sells will skyrocket!

This game was HUGE in Brazil, but with a whole different face, and I assure that thousands of players (myself included of course) would LOVE to play this amazing new version with the beloved characters that we're used to play!

I'm not sure if some company still own rights on this game version in Brazil, it could be very problematic.

Turma da Monica have been copyrighted by 3 companies, SEGA, TECTOY and I can't read the last one.

TECTOY still sell SEGA products in Brazil even actually. Its not because they don't sell this game anymore that they don't own the rights of this game version.

Edit 1: There is also monica brazilian comic actual owners.

Edit 2: At least don't wait Official skins.

Yep, probably they would have to negotiate with Mauricio de Souza Producoes... I'll wait for the release of the game... Even if someone make as a mod, it will be amazing!

I would LOVE a Monica's Gang mod or DLC for this game.

I've always found it weird seeing these Monica characters in Wonderboy games. For me they always clearly looked like that they do not belong there in this game world (graphics, weaponry, several other reasons). But I can understand that some people would like to see them since they remind them of their childhood and the fun they had with the games and comics.

However, it may be difficult to get them as an official "skin" since they (the characters and the names) are copyrighted by different companies/publishers in different countries of the world. They (most likely) need an agreement with all of them if they want to publish "Monica".

This is never going to happen officially. You'll have to rely on mods at best.

You do know this can't happen because of copyright issues, right? Mauricio is still alive and the brand remains gigantic here in Brazil (in fact, it's gotten even more popular in the last year or so after meme culture highly embraced it - and the brand proudly embraced it back).

Also, a good trivia to you all: TecToy (who publishes Sega games and hardware here since the 80's) announced just this month they're doing a reprint of the original Turma da Mônica na Terra dos Monstros for the Mega Drive. Can't find the textures for the animals. Peeked in the configuration files and it said they were in a folder like tex/hero* (ex: tex/herolion) but I couldn't locate that folder. Anybody have any luck with that?

Hmm... they're chopped up into 8 (EDIT: Nope, 26) pixel tiles and organized sequentially. I guess the first step would thus be to reassemble the existing sprites as coherent images, for the purpose of establishing pixel limits and the number of frames of animation.

Heh, if only I were a better programmer I could set up an executable to do that for me. At least the organization pattern is straightforward, though! GIMP chopping away!
