Characters clothing
When will be able to customise what we all look like? I am tired of this red chequered shirt haha

I second this. When are we getting a female? No rush, just asking :D
100% with this. Would add an extra level of character development if we could actually choose how we look. I play single player mostly, but would still feel more immersed if I could actually find new pieces of clothing in the world for my character...

Still waiting for character customization myself. I really want to see female character models
before I buy the game. Seems like one of those things that always seems to get cut at some point in most ea games.

Otherwise great work so far!

That's such an odd request. You won't even try the game, simply because they haven't added a female playable character yet? In single player, you can't even see your character...

Some people just want to be females and it's always the female characters that get dropped, if anything. I actually purchased another survival (won't put the name here because I don't like to cross promote. I find that rude) for the mere fact that they chose to do the female character model first before the male, because that is always what happens.

I respect the other survival for that.

Just because you can't see your character, doesn't mean anything. The hands will let you know your male. You, mentally, will know your male in-game.

(Note: I have bought this game. I have played it as a male. Yes, I typically enjoy females and honestly don't see why games need to "never complete the female avatar")
A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

It's always some really fit skinny white dude too, and because I'm an overweight Asian guy, I don't play any games if the character isn't a fat Japanese guy who runs slow and gets out of breath in 2 seconds...

Obviously, I'm being sarcastic and facetious. The main character in every single game is bound to not look like a majority of people, because that's just an unrealistic request - even more so in a game where you literally cannot see your character. How do you know your character doesn't identify as female? does it not seem rather presumptuous to assume the gender of a character who doesn't talk? Why does someone have to look female in order for them to BE female?

At the end of the day, you do you dude, it's just really odd that you won't play a game simply because the character doesn't conform to some standard you've set for yourself. You're missing out on a great survival game (and probably thousands of other great games) because of it...

Don't think you meant to reply to me. (Note: I have bought this game. I have played it as a male. Yes, I typically enjoy females and honestly don't see why games need to "never complete the female avatar")

Ah, I thought you were the same person who'd made the original complaint because you responded to my comment when I asked them a question. In retrospect, that reply was for both you, and the OP then.

Personally, I don't think saying "why games need to 'never complete the female avatar'" is a fair representation of what's happening here when the developer of the game literally said "Character customization including a female character are planned and will be coming in the future."

And again, you're assuming the character is already male. You're the creator of your character's story, so why, when you play the game, can you not just play the gender to which you prefer - which would be female in this case? Why do you automatically assume that anyone who looks like a man in a video game identifies as one? Especially in cases like STN, where there is not one indicator that they are male when playing a solo game.

"Yes, I typically enjoy females" - So if the character in this game was a female, even though you never see or hear your character in the game, that it would be inherently more enjoyable for you?

I hope this isn't coming off as combative, I'm just trying to understand because I've never met someone with such an outlook.
Sutha Sep 27, 2021 @ 9:39am
To be honest. It was coming off as a bit combative. No offense.

It's more of a mental aspect sort of thing. I know why it's more comfortable for me. I can't explain it without going into a dark personal history. I just understand it. I don't know about OPs reasons, but all I can say is I understand.

For the record, I can play games as male, a trex, a fish; I just prefer female if that option was given to me or is going to be given.

Never exclaimed that the developer wasn't going to live up to their word. I'm fine with whatever developmental process is comfortable for them. Even if they didn't, I'm sure they have a reason. The point and fact I was stating, was that many games end up doing this.

Personally I think craftopia (yes, craftopia) got character creation pretty well done. Atleast in this aspect. This particular developer can do what they want. Their game.

Yes, I assumed the character was male. But I'm sure the character was listed as such somewhere. So I assumed as such.

The reason its one of my 3 checkmarks before I buy a game is simple. I have a wife and 3 daughter that are gamers as well. Though my 2 older daughters have moved out long ago, the rest of us still play games together. The girls like to play as their own sex in games. At least those with no set main character.

As for myself I really don't play single player games anymore. I really only enjoy playing with my wife and kids. Its our family time together. We've been playing games together since Diablo 1 and Everquest.

I did buy this game and played with my youngest for a little under an hour. It had checked most of the other must haves from my list but I forgot to check for female models. We did enjoy it but I decided to refund. I've just had to many times the developer never finishes the game or just decides female models are to much trouble. If everything we want is there at purchase then even if the devs abandon the game. We don't feel like we've wasted our money.

I've got about 7 games in my account that I bought 4 or 5 copies of that the devs said something similar to that but either abandoned the whole game or just didn't add the female models. But as I said you guys are doing a great job. Once they are in I will buy a copy for all of us. And just like Arc Survival Evolved and 7 Days to Die we will probably clock a thousand hours or more!

Hope everyone else is enjoying the game! Looking forward to joining in sometime in the future!
