It's gonna be a tough work for KillerFish if they want to do such thing, as well as asking permission to Bandai Namco if the dev wanted to do so in the next release. It's gonna be using new model, and it's definitely be very large as a "submersible aircraft carrier", much larger than the Kiev.
The Acepedia has limited description regarding specifications, though. Mass, number of crews, engine type, weapons... even though it mentioned as an SSB (noted the function as the SLBM-launch platform - that crazy-ass burst missiles) as well as the aircraft carrying cruiser equivalent to Kiev. It launches UAV... a different story, though.
Yuktobania is a representation of Russia, so probably sonar, radar, and weapons are likely Russian-made (USET-80, Snoop Tray, you name it). It doesn't being mentioned in Acepedia, though.
Play math... I bet that big submarine could weigh twice or more than the Typhoon-class. Or maybe Ohio's.
High durability means more mass. The heavier the ship, the harder it takes to get sunk.
VLS tube is only one in this game, though, dunno if KillerFish can made another one specifically for anti-air. It's gonna need a new set of weapon for anti-air targeting if that comes into fruition in the new release.
That reminds me in a thread where some users here wished that they can take down the annoying ASW patrol helicopters or planes using anti-air weapons from the submarines. I can link you to that if you're interested.
For the VLS tubes, again someone with enough know-how could probably, theoretically, make their own specialized VLS tubes for anti-air.
High mass... wouldn't they also be sorta slow to go upwards too?
Let's say that this Hrimfaxi you mention at start, has a mass 3 times heavier than Typhoon-class SSBN (call it about 140000 tons empty without SLBMs and aircraft). That means you need 6 or 7 Mk-48 or more than 20 UGMT-1 or Mk-46 torpedoes to sink it. Not to mention its test depth and other damages like fire control, sonar, and such.
Play math again, though.
