Ya that mod seemed to make the game harder
Cheers
Thanks.
I found another problem though. When I used the Akula class and tried to do a mission, the SET and USET-80 torpedoes didn't seem to be wire guided. I shot them and they just went out without any guidance from the sub. What am I doing wrong?
When I played the 1984 NATO campaign, the Mk 48s all worked normally.
Just tried with the Alfa and the same thing happened. The SET torpedo shot out without any wire control.
Set-65 isn't wire guided and the Alfa doesn't have wire capability anyway.
Only Test-71M is in 1984. I have used them on a Tango and a Kilo, and they do work.
You need to keep the sub at 15kn or below or the wire will break. Also shoot them straight ahead and then maneuver them to target. There is a chance the wire will break on shooting the torpedo, so just shoot another. There is a higher chance of breakage if you shoot them at an angle above 60 from the course of the sub.
Thanks, I asked on the Dotmod discord and they explained it. I guess I just assumed the Soviets used wire guided torpedoes as well.
