DotMod 0.4a Release - Player Helicopters!
Presenting: DotMod for Cold Waters.

This is an attempt to create a more organized mod that is closer to vanilla vessel and weapons characteristics than other, currently-existing mods. This also generally results in more realistic sensor comparisons.

This is an early Beta release, and will be tweaked and improved based on feedback and additional sources where possible. We encourage you to join our Discord at: https://discord.gg/DrmztcDYYf to help us further tweak the mod to give the best possible experience. We also hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoy working on it!

DotMod 0.4a
DotMod 0.4a-2 is now released. This provides a number of bug fixes and improvements upon 0.4a-1. These include more player surface ships, new sound effects kindly provided by the community, multiple helicopter deck spots useable, and significantly more.

DotMod 0.3c
DotMod 0.3c provides minor fixes to the core mod code as a stop-gap before the issue of 0.4. It also provides enhanced OSX compatability and a few minor data updates.

Game immediately gave me an error on the campaign menu:

IndexOutOfRangeException: Array index is out of range.

Could you drop by the Discord and let us take a look in your output_log.txt file? I have an idea of what it might be and hopefully we can get you going fairly quickly.

Did it let you continue with no further issues?

I've just downloaded and installed it as my first mod, but loading it up, I'm getting red warning messages that the game can't find models for things like the Los Angeles. Have I done something wrong?

It's hard to say without seeing the Output_log.txt file and the error message. It's not necessarily anything that you have done wrong as sometimes files fail to copy for no apparent reason. If you could either post the details here or drop by our Discord we'll try our best to help.

Great mod, thx ! Really like the campaign style of UUSR '84. Are there plans to add this promotion feature to the other campaigns as well.

Is it possible to play the Type 21 by copying over the extra lines from current playable surface ships, and adding profile, signature etc ?

Yes that is the plan at the moment. Most of the guys working on this quite like the RPG element having played a lot of Silent Hunter.

Yes absolutely, that's exactly how the current ones are made. Just remember that playable surface ships are a bit weird as they are really submarines as far as the game is concerned.

I tried and it didn't let me get further than selecting the ship, so I'll just wait till its in an update. I've no patience for fault finding :lunar2019grinningpig:

It can definitely be pretty finicky!

It definitely hasn't! 0.2b had a couple of hotfixes but there has never been an official 0.2c release. There was briefly a 0.2c WIP but with the amount of code rework that was renamed to 0.3a

Same prob here. Can't find some models in the data base. Clean install for the game and for the new Mod.
