You should put the game in your "wanted" list, and you will be notified when it goes on sale.
It would not surprise me at all if it came up for sale around thxgiving or xmas this year...
The silence from the Developers the recent months have been defening...
A lot of posters on the forum feel that asking for an update on whats going on every once in a while is a lot to ask, but I am not one of those posters.
A hint of what's coming (or not coming for that matter) would be very welcome indeed.
The developers have gone omniously silent... But here is to hoping it's because of something major on the horizon...

You know what they say when you beat your head repeatedly against the same brick wall? Information is good. Requesting information is fine. Looking up any available answers to a question before asking it, seems to be a skill that has fallen by the wayside.
Probably not very fair to the latest person asking the question, but the repetition and apparent laziness becomes annoying after awhile.
I too hope there is more to come. I just don't see any point in asking about it from here on out.
I am not simply asking for updates. I am asking why the price is 37 euros and no discounts considering that for all we know this is abandonware at this point. 5 months without a single word is a pretty good display of an abandonment IMHO. Even No Man Sky didn't do it and released constant patches without giving news too. This game has been released little over a year ago. It's too early to be abandoned like that. It's really interesting actually that the last "news" piece, and actual update for the game came almost exactly on point with the 1year release anniversary. Do you know what the current 30 day average of players is? 122 players online average per day. Have you asked yourself if the dev actually decided that 122 players are not really worth for updating and more content?
"Millennial entitlement"... How about Baby Boomer ignorance...
My reply wasn't really directed specifically at you, it was more a response to another poster and that's my fault for not properly addressing the reply. .
Everyone is free to form their own opinions about anything they wish. Your question about discount pricing has been asked and answered before. There is a search button in the upper right hand corner, trying typing in "on sale" and press enter. Like magic, that portion of your original post would have been answered.

That same search function can help determine if any other concerns have already been addressed either by KFG or the community at large. In this case, future development and potential update releases.
I can appreciate you have an opinion about the cost of the game. If you sit back and think about that for a minute or two, you can probably realize that your opinion on this point is pretty subjective and is probably limited to you and you alone. While others may agree or disagree with you on this point, in the grand scheme of things, it's pretty much a personal point of view that probably isn't relative to or shared by those who have already purchased the game which would be the majority of people hanging out in this discussion group.
Finally, game play times: One of the nice features of CW is that you do not need to be logged into steam to play. The game runs fine just by clicking on the executable. I personally don't like steam as a platform very much and the vast majority of my CW game play (99%) is conducted without loading steam. I may not be the only one who does this. For this game, the steam usage stats may not be reflective of reality. I played for about 4 hours last night and I'd be playing now if not typing this. Blood in the water makes my morning coffee taste better...
To recap:
1) The title has been on sale at least once back in July after the release of the South China Sea update. It may or may not go on sale again.
2) Those who like the game, like it, those who do not, do not. There is little room for movement on this point.
3) Only the developer knows if there will be anymore updates. It has always been my philosophy to make a purchase based on what the game is at that point in time. Updates are nice and new content great, but not guaranteed despite what some other publisher may have done with their title in the past.
4) Offering personal opinions on a discussion forum is usually seen as an invitation for others to comment on those opinions. You will probably see replies from people who may not share or appreciate your perspective. If you can't appreciate those points of view or learn to ignore them, then chances are that posting an opinion might have been a mistake.
5) Some dedicated folks have spent a lot of their time to make extensive game play modifications available to owners of CW, offering new subs, missions and campaigns. If new content is what you are looking for, it is available from sources external to the developer and certainly something you could learn to do yourself with relative ease if you were so inclined.
No hard feelings and I'm not looking to pick a fight. I thoroughly enjoy Cold Waters as it exists today. There are still some bugs, some features (imo) that are desirable, and an official update may well be overdue and welcomed by many. However, tilting at public windmills isn't usually very productive and leaves one exposed to a torpedo up your six. I’m happy with my purchase and I would advise you to buy now rather than waiting for some sale that may not come or that you may miss. It’s your choice to make. Someone already suggested putting CW on your watch list if you wish to wait and that’s a good suggestion.
I hope to see you posting someday about how you figured out surfacing between Bergy Bits protects you from inbound torpedoes from all directions. Playing the game, as it exists today, is infinitely more rewarding than stressing over a cost benefit/update analysis.
Fair winds and following seas.
Have a good day!
If the devs have stopped actively developing the game, I would imagine that would change, but am in no position to say that for sure.
