Report a translation problem
With regards to the South China update, I'm uncertain that anyone but the developers know for sure how long it truly is. JiveTurkey has been streaming his playthrough of the campaign, but after 5 days of +1.5hr streaming per day, he still hasn't finished the campaign.
My suspicion is he's nowhere near the end of the campaign... my reasoning behind this is due to the devs hinting at some special events happening mid-campaign. Thus far, I have not seen evidence of this in JiveTurkey's playthrough/testing, so either it was just a rumor, or Jive is simply not even half-way through the campaign.
I would very much like to see a mission generator of some sort in the future. As fine as the campaigns are, one doesn't always feel like going for the full blown war. And in a campaign, you don't really have control over what kind of engagement you'll end up in. Sometimes I just want to have a single, more limited and controlled engagement.
The included single missions are good, but the problem with them is that in many of them you're limited to a certain era and, in some, even a specific sub class. I often find myself hoping for an easy way to have a battle against two or three nuclear subs (or even mix between SSN/SSK etc). I also like the missions where one is tasked with sinking the redfleet surface groups, especially the Kirov one, but I'd very much like to try it with some other subs like 688 class.
The mission generator would not have to be anything fancy. Just allowing player to choose the theater (once SCS is out), era and mission type (basically same mission types as covered by the current single missions). One could then choose any sub matching the selected era, and the missions could be generated in the same fashion as the single missions or campaign missions are.
