Is there a future for Cold Waters?

Firstly, I have to say that I absolutely love this game. I've been a tremendous submarine enthusiast since 2nd grade and this game is perfect for me, but there are still plenty of features that I would like to see, and this game hasn't received an update in over a year. Does anyone know if this game is abandoned, if they're working on a sequel, or if there are any more updates ahead? I've been using some mods, but the lack of attention and new content worries me.

Contrary to what kenberg said, there's ZERO confirmation what KFG's plans are.

KFG has abjectly refused to confirm whether or not a new game or Cold Waters expansion is planned.

They have said the base game is finished.

Jive turkey has said in his cold water 250 video that KillerFish is working on two games the other game is certain to be a sequel to cold water.

Hey KFG, time for a pinned thread dealing with this topic - most still won't see it, but at least it will be easy to direct people to when next week someone asks the same questions or makes the same incorrect assertions.

Summary:

1) Cold Waters in its current version is considered completed for the time being and no additional development has been announced.

2) Multiplayer functionality was not included and there are no plans to add this functionality to the current game.

3) In the absence of an official announcement by Killerfish Games at some point in the future, any speculation or rumors of continued development are just that, speculation and rumors.

4) Since there is no ongoing development, there is no point in asking for new ships, features, new missions or lamenting on how the game could be so much better if [insert nonsensical wishful thinking here]

5) If you do not wish to kill whales while playing Cold Waters, do not shoot anywhere near them!

I totally love this sim and have played a lot. To me, this was Red Storm Rising in 3D.

If there is enthousiast programmers for the game, let's hope someone will fiddle with it and maybe add a TV campain that is making it even more exciting than just a plain 'journal drop in your face' campain result.

The other thing would be trench that you could hide into (Red October anyone???) maybe?
