Crush depth is always 1.5 to 1.75 times the test depth (this assumes the hull is at 100%, lower hull integrity and the crush depth maybe shallower) The exact crush depth is randomized when your sub is assigned. However you’re ALWAYS safe going down to 1.5 times a subs test depth (being that’s the minimum any sub in-game will implode from water pressure!)
For example: the Skipjacks test depth is 700 ft. This means it’s minimum crush depth, with 100% hull Integrity, is 1050 feet. You will ALWAYS be able to take it down to 1050 (or maybe 1049) ft. without imploding! Sometimes it may crush at 1075 ft, mine once imploded at 1250 ft. but it’s random!
For safety reasons I always give myself a 100 ft. safety margin but I will often, without hesitation, take my skipjack down to 950 ft. and never suffered any ill effects!
