Funny akula trick
I noticed with the akula submarine(i think the name is?) the submarine that can go 42 knots and dive to 2000 feet.

It can actually dive down to 3340 feet before its hull breaks and if you linger at 3333 feet the enemy torpedoes cant reach you. you can do whatever down there and never die :)

that's the Alfa! 2000 ft. is only it’s “test depth”. The way this game works is that “crush depth” is 1.5 times the test depth, so the Alfa’s crush depth is right around 3000 ft. (it will NEVER implode at or above 3000 ft but below 3000 ft. there is a small probability it will implode and that probability increases the deeper you continue to go)

Seems by your reporting you constantly manage 3300 ft. without imploding but do not be surprised if that does not always work. I don’t know if its 1 out 100 times or 1 out of 1000 times, but one day you may very well implode at 3050 ft. However I guess if that’s your only option then it might be worth the risk!

It’s not exactly 1.5. The exact ratio is somewhat random but in campaigns whatever ratio you get is assigned to your boat for the duration, it doesn’t change until you get a new boat.

Test Depths:
Los Angeles - 950 ft
Narwhal - 1320 ft
Sturgeon - 1320 ft
Permit - 1320 ft
Skipjack - 700 ft

Ok yeah it’s not always 1.5 times test depth but from my read no less then that!

Oh, thats cool. Maybe i will not push it so hard next time hehe. I just thought it was nice to cruise at 3300 feet without a worry :)
