Banana (Yellow) Torpedo ignores all countermeasures
All is in the title. Is it on purpose? Seems strange.

We don't know yet but this has come up in the past with AI wire-guided torpedos.

I've had it happen with one enemy that was already dead.

yea i noticed that today at certain angles it ignores knuckles and noise makers and theres no way to out-run it

I've also had something somewhat similar happen with wire-guided TEST-71 fish although I was able to shake these ones for just the slightest instant vs the Yu-5 that just keeps on coming.

As happened to me also

Just tested with the High Noon Single Mission.
Working as intended. A live submarine that has contact with you and an intact wire will guide their torpedo through your countermeasures and knuckles.

Once you sink the firing submarine, break contact with it or the wire breaks, the torpedo is susceptible to your countermeasures and knuckles.

Hi KFG. I've not experienced this myself, but many reports claim that the firing platform had been sunk and that the fish still tracked as if it were still alive.

In testing with the High Noon Single Mission, once sunk the enemy torpedoes were no longer wire guided. It can get confusing with multiple firing subs where some are still on wires, but in all our tests, once sunk the torpedo returned to default behaviour.

My encounters have all been in the SCS campaign and occur at times where either the guiding platform is dead or otherwise is engaged in evasive manuvers which you would think would probably cause the wire to part.

This is why you shoot first so they evade and their wires break ;)

In my case, I was fighting only a single Glowboat, 2 bananas were fired at me (same timing, bearing, speed, search pattern, etc) by Glowboat is just moments before it is dead, and only one banana can be spoofed....

Surely I have eliminated as much factor as possible in my example?

Had the same situation in the campaign, sunk the sub but the torpedo was still acting like it was wire guided and countermeasures didn't work...

I've done the mission once more and i came face to face at like 2KYD from a chinese sub, quickly lauched at him, he fired two "bananas",i try to turn around, my torpedo kill the sub, the two ennemy torpedoes are 200 yards of my rear, in a last attempt, i create a knuckle and drop a noisemaker but they still got trough.

I believe I have determined why this happens, started another thread going through my testing process. Thus far, I have recreated the issue with 100% reliability.

Verified as a bug and fixed in next update.
