Cold Water Not Running

I havent played Cold Waters for a while. I've recently updated my graphics drivers, now I get the following:

Failed to initialize Direct3D.
Make sure you have at least DirectX 9.0c installed, have drivers for your
graphics card and have not disabled 3D acceleration
in display settings.
InitializeEngineGraphics failed

Does anyone know how yo get round this?

After reading the heading, I was tempted to ask: Is your Hot Water running? :-)

But on a more serious note:

Do you have any mods installed, or are you running a clean install?

Also, have you tried re-installing the game, or validating the game files?

Clean install and validated the files.

I've checekd, I'm running the latest version of my graphics driver.
I've ran DxDiag and it says 3D acceleration is enabled.

I've tried the deleting Visual C++ and reinstalling... all to no avail.

I'm literally at the sacrificing chickens and throwing the bones around stage...

Seriously though... if all your drivers are up to date and such, could there be some nasty litter registry issue hiding out from a previous install that's keeping it from working?

Try hitting the Devs up in Discord. They are really responsive and might be able to help you out.

Try going to: \Steam\steamapps\common\Cold Waters\
Right click on the executable and run as Administrator.

I tried the above links after speaking witha Killerfish dev on Discord. I think we are probably at the point where I need to accept that theres not a lot else we can do.

I was playing it half an hour ago fine, now I get this error.

Do you have nvidia geforce experience installed. It may have signed you out during an update. Im sure somthing similar happened to me a while back
