You can still opt in for beta in the steam settings, and your game will say it's beta, but the game is the same if you opt out of beta.
Said differently: The game was in beta for a while after the release of the SCS campaign and the addition of US assets and playable Russian and Chinese subs in single missions.
But for quite a while now, the game has been out of beta.

As updates are done, these are released onto the beta branch for players to optionally opt into in order to try out and test the new features and ensure that no major bugs get introduced.
Once given the all clear, the beta branch version of the game is then rolled into production, replacing the existing production version.
Right now both the production version and beta version are 1.15g which simply means that 1.15g was tested on the beta branch prior to being released as the production version.
Your guess is as good as any... My friend kenberg is just speculating above, but then again the silence of the devs kinda invites speculation.
But Killerfish has stated they will announce when ready, so just wait for the official word, don't listen to the speculation & wishful thinking posts, because that's just what they are...
We would all love more Cold Water additions, wether it will be a Cold Waters DLC or a new game improving on the "old one"...
Look for post from Killerfish, or a guy called Julhelm... then you will know it's an official Killerfis post.

This implies more development. KFG, on this one point, can you speak plainly and put all this nonsense to rest?
You have to realize that Killerfish Games is only 2 dudes plus some freelancers and people doing stuff without getting paid, so everything takes a long time to build and test. But I'm sure this game is not dead yet.
Also it seems their AI is compensated with giving them a form of ESP to search an area when they should have limited data. In many cases it seems like they don't need to go through that steady increase in detection percentage like we do. Most often the ASW helos are the worst offenders with 'lucky' detection of subs straight off they have next to no info on.
In saying that my criticisms come from a place of love. This game has that perfect sweet spot of arcade vs sim that make it hard to put down once you start a campaign.
If they take some time to enjoy their success a bit before starting on the next one.. who are we to interfere? "Hey Ted, look at what asssclown22 said in Steam! Crap! we'd better get back to work!" In the meantime, their creative juices are boiling over during this siesta and we'll get a full on VR Seawolf simulator after they sober up. Scroovy
I have this, Atlantic Fleet, and Silent Hunter 4.
Hopeing KillerFish gives us news for Red Water soon.
