Campaign rewards and development of sub / attachement to the sub
I am enjoying the game immensly, I do however have one suggestion or general question for the developers / anyone who may know more than me.

Over the course of a campaign, I at least feel it would seem more rewarding to gain the oppurtunity to upgrade to a better sub, or "experimental weaponry" or what not, while I do not know the specifics from the actual cold war, or the subs that we are able to play now are the only subs from the period in time. So, the question is, is any such feature planned in future updates?

I ask of this, probably because I compare the game a lot with Silent Hunter 3, where new subs , better torpedos, better sonar and more got available as the war progressed. In game, the parts where then bought with "credits" that you had earned based on your performance in the campaign. In silent hunter you also had crew experience, where a fatality would hurt your feelings much more than a 60% hull damage that you repair next time in port.

I at least feel the game is missing an element of customization, or sense of progression in terms of sub and systems /crew ,or maybe it is just me who has been influenced too much from playing silent hunter ?

Good day, and thanks for an amazing game, im having fun :)

There is no upgrade to subs or weapons

the idea being is as you get more experienced at the game to make it more interesting & difficult you choose a (lesser submarine)

If it was as you suggest it would be really hard from the get go and just get easier as you got better subs and weapons

This isn't Silent Hunter 3 and honestly that level of customization was unrealistic. If you want a sense of progression and accomplishment I would suggest a game like Star Wars Battlefront 2 or something. What you are asking for isn't how things work in the real world.

I am well aware this is not SH3, however it was a game of with attention to detail and realism, much like this game. True, back in world war 2, the captains probably did not get to pick which type of sonar was equipped or such. I could speculate, that the better performing captains would be equipped with the latest hardware, if anything.

If all games had to be played like the real world, the games would be boring :)

That you would suggest battlefront 2 baffles me.

I might say that in a series of wartime patrols that span 4+ years, you would be likely to get upgraded stuff from time to time. And that would be reasonable.

But in these campaigns, the entire war lasts 90 days at most. I've finished some campaigns in less than 60 days.

Not really much time to design and field new weapons, sonars, equipment, etc.

Solid argument.

Battlefront 2 suggestion was an attempt at humor over the controversy where the devs stated they implemented snails pace progression and loot boxes in order to give the player a sense of accomplishment.

Also games playing like the real world being boring is a matter of opinion. I play a lot of DCS World and quite love realistic cold ramp startups and taxiing to the runway prior to a sortie. And don't get me wrong, I love the idea of progressing through something and unlocking stuff but that just isn't what this game is about. Your sense of accomplishment here comes from your total tonnage sunk. While the game is more on the arcade side of things as far as simulators go, it's still a sim. RPG action and all that Michael Bay jazz is better left out of this masterpiece.
