[SUG] Torpedo Crush Depth
It would be nice if torpedo's crush depth was modeled in game as there are more than a few instances where a torpedo chasing my sub should fail at the depth my sub is at. So it would be nice if that would be modeled.

Huzzah! In general it doesn't effect all that much but there are a few deep diving soviet subs that should be able to use that to their advantage and I think some US subs as well. It'll add a nice option for torp avoidence for a couple of subs. Also you cannot see crush depth or test depth in game right now so you need to look at the vessel txt file to find it. It should probaly be much more visable in game considering its importance

How deep can a torpedo go?

It depends on the torpedo. Most modern torpedos can dive deeper than subs but those numbers are estimites. Officaly stated numbers tend to be between 1200 and 1500 feet but those are almost definitly false as the military wouldn't want to be sharing that type of info. So I would say it shouldn't be a huge deal but depending on the situation it could be aplicable. The only insances though would probaly be the Alfa and Oscar class subs with their 2,000 feet test depth. If the player is in one of those through mods they would probaly have more than a few instances where they could out dive soviet torpedos though.

The MK.48 some say as fare as 2,600 feet or 792 meters,
And if you look up my post called (Soviet Deep Diving Submarines)

Should this really be a valid suggestion then? I mean if Country X knows Country Y's subs have a capability to dive say to 1200 meters, why would they not want to develop a torpedo that goes, say to 1500 meters, to safeguard future sub advances? Also, as small a diameter as a torpedo has, I would suspect they all can dive deeper than the larger diameter subs.

Anyway, not a torpedo subject matter expert but just seems like an odd request.

Now, putting in an ability to kill my wire guided torpedo when it has locked onto me.....that is definitely needed and most certainly a part of every wire guided torpedo I have ever read about, just so as to avoid that particular dillemma.
