I have had two missions since the last upgrade (5) where i have been destroyed
The game instead of going into the RIP screens sent me back to base for repairs
First lot of damage was (minus) 195%
Second was (minus) 11%
Anyone else had this happen ?
That's not true at all. The great majority of that list of Soviet stuff is represented - especially given that the game takes place in '84 or '68, not 1990. Only the auxiliary submarines are missing in any quantity, and they're... auxiliary.
But yes, I'd like a finite count of enemy types available. I've killed two Udaloys in my current campaign and I really hope I don't run into too many more.
Nope.
There are no less than half-a-dozen important ships that aren't there... while not all are large, they are still important:
Project 1241 missile corvette
Project 1241.2 ASW corvette
Project 205P ASW corvette
Project 1135 M ASW frigate
Project 1135.1 ASW frigate
Project 58 missile cruiser
Project 1164 missile cruiser
Project 611 large submarine
Project 615 coastal submarine
Project 658 missile submarine
Project 629 missile submarine
There are other classes that have less involvement in the business of a nuclear submarine, but I didn't list them here... or the other major variants of the Grisha, as the 3 is pretty good as a representation.
So, yeah - a lot of ships thst could be there aren't. I don't particularly mind that they aren't (the game is great as-is) but it would surely be nice to have them.
I'd much rather have the devs spending their considerable talents adding new boats to command, as I have yet to run out of targets in this game. I'm also holding out hope that one day they might give me a Knox or Perry-class frigate to captain.
It doesn't even include the Zulu-5, the first 'boomer' to be trailed by the USN at sea.
And yes, the 'Cigarette Lighters' are in there... they were a prolific class of boats which might be interesting to drive, as they are submarines and can work in the game.
The small ASW corvettes would be appropriate for any mission in coastal Russia, and the Krivak IIs would be nice as they are indeed different than the Krivak I. The Krivak III is completely different and would be centerpieces of near-shore defense in wartime... if not seconded entirely to the Navy.
Why do you think I am asking for so many models to be added eventually - anything they can make models for, I can find enough info to make a commandable vessel.
Even if it is kinda dumb that one boat sinks the whole Red Fleet, but hey. Manifest Destiny, or something. :-)
