Cold Waters plays closely to the original Red Storm Rising with external view elements of Tom Clancy's SSN.
Edit to add: I guess the memory goes with age as it was "Strike Fleet" that was on my C-128 not Fleet Command, about 10 years apart I think.
One of the greatest things about Red Storm was watching the map slowly getting flooded with the reds and knowing you were playing a small part in a big thing.
That is, until you strike hard and fast at critical elements of the Northern Red Banner Fleets. Denying Spetsnaz insertions cripples their intelligence gathering abilities, destroying the Kiev Carrier Group plus Soviet/Pact airbases emboldens NATO air superiority, taking down Amphibious Landings enables NATO to send more troops to the front to give Warsaw Pact a hard time... Endless possibilities for the war to play out!
