Micht's Pawn Shop and Missing Books

Asking just to make sure; any missed book can appear when you Inspect for curios, right? Not just missed chapters of Red Moon Rose?

I missed Chapters 3 and 4 of the Carnelia Reprint because I didn't check for books during the second field study, so I've been hoping to get them at the pawn shop instead. However, when I did a brief search on whether or not those particular books can appear there, most guides and forum threads note the Red Moon Rose chapters specifically, rather than books in general. And when I found one thread that did question if the Carnelia books appeared there, the one person to respond back was not entirely sure.

Been coming in and entering for a little while as I type this, but have so far only seen ingredient drops. If the Carnelia books do appear there, are book appearances just that rare?

EDIT: And if I did screw myself over in this regard, will buying those books in my second playthrough suffice if I got all other books in the first? Or is the Honorary Literature Club Member achievement going to make me go after all new copies of those books?

I don't know specifically about Carnelia Reprint, but I can say that yes, books are pretty rare. You may have to spend a fair amount of time walking in and out of his shop to make his inventory reset before a book shows up.

And getting the ones you missed on a second playthrough is *probably* good enough; it worked for me on the PS3 version, so assuming the PC version's achievement works the same way...

Necroing my thread because it's a related question that doesn't really deserve its own thread:

I've read that in the original release for this game, the Red Moon Rose books did not properly show up in the Pawn Shop in New Game Plus playthroughs. Does that still apply with this rerelease?
