Reaper/zombie idea.
Instead of a fully grown reaper spawning from a zombie at ANY turn after infection, i've been thinking about a "time the larva have been developing" way it could be, dictating what spawns from the zombie upon death.
Turn 0: Reaper attacked and killed/infected someone
If you kill the zombie, the unit spawning is based on how long since it has been infected.
Your turn 1: Larva - A big fat larva, low health (10?) and no attack options, will try to find a corpse and "posses" it, starting all over.
Your Turn 2: Juvenile Reaper - Still weak and easy to kill, low damage and health but a bit faster movement than the larva, but can't posses corpses to grow further.
Your Turn 3: Imature Reaper - Looks fully grown and has the blades but not the larva, still not as strong as a fully grown Reaper, but still deadly, can't posses corpse to grow further.
Enemy turn after your 3rd turn after zombie "creation": Bursts into a fully grown Reaper.
