Doomsday clock

I've just lost a game. the Doomsday clock reached 100%. I had just two tactical games. I could not see any way to stop or slow the doomsday clock. What am I missing?

What difficulty are you on? Which branch of the game, regular or experimental? Probably the reason this happened is you did not spend your tactical points, or you spent them on the wrong thing. Your first priority is to get rid of infiltrators (the red cells). If you do not, you lose the game within a month or two.

Phase one has you surviving until the alien invasion countdown (on the bottom left of the strategic screen) reaches zero. In the meantime, you need to spend tactic points to eliminate infiltrators, which are the red icons on the bottom middle on the strategic layer, to slowdown the doomsday ticks. You can also use your tactic abilities to manually reduce the doomsday clock. You wont make it past phase 1 if you ignore this

Use the "reduce panic" button if you're not getting enough DD reduction from anti-Cleaner missions.

Remove alien infiltrators and/or make friends with Security officers in your backer countries.

I hadn't played the game for a while because I could not get it to start. I had no idea about what you both told me. I should have done some reading before jumping into the game with both feet. Thanks for taking the time to help me out.

Its a new addition, so dont feel bad that you missed knowing about it.
