No fusion cannon?

I just researched Heavy Fusion Weaponry, is there no Fusion Cannon for use as a primary weapon on MARS and ARES units?

Finishing the research project unlocks the engineering project for the weapons.

I did look for the engineering project.. It's not there
Found the autorifle and the lance, but no cannon

The only thing that comes in to my mind is that have you finished the vehicle gauss cannon engineering project? as you can not skip over tech tiers.

If you have, then I am out of ideas as to how to solve the issue.

But, in any case, the answer to your original question is that there indeed is a vehicle fusion cannon.

Turns out yes, I needed the Gauss cannon first which is.. odd since for other upgrades like the Laser or Gauss base defenses they appear in the engineering tab immediately even though it's not possible to engineer it requires predecessors, something to consider changing/clarifying?
