Note you dont need to micro manage buying/building the rounds you send them out with, that ammo is unlimited
You have to equip your soldiers with reloads for their weapons, the reloads take up inventory space and weight on your soldiers and the size and weight is dependant on the type of ammo (ie. Pistol Mags are smaller and lighter than Machinegun Boxes).
The only real difference is that in the original you had to buy or manufacture your ammo so you could resupply your squads in between missions, in Xenonauts 2 you don't have to do that.
Where you manufacture ammo, guns, and have a bit more customization on looks of troops. I really hope xenonauts looks at that game and takes some cues from it.
Yes, it is indeed. It still works but there's no end. it's pretty much I think a sandbox game verses Xenonauts.

And that applies to X2. If you go heavy with explosives, don't expect to get as much loot.
