Feedback- the new cleaners
So i was playing the game again after the update, and somethin that i was hyped about was the new cleaners content. I love what you have done, but saldy, is not enough. Let me explain:
1- You end the cleaners to quickly, in less than 3 months you can track their base and finish them off. I dint even see the gas mask soldiers again! With this Im saying they are to abupt and quickly to finish. Maybe you can add time to the investigation, and make some special mission in different % marks? something like a 50% you discover a secret facility where you discover that the cleaners are a lot more older than you thinks, and have decades working with the goverment to occult the invasion, or something like that, giving them more mistery, because right know they are to bland.
2- They are to same-i. With this I will bring a comparison that I dont want to do, but need to do. When XCOM 1 added the human rival organization, fighting them was different to fighting aliens. maybe the cleaners could have different weapons and trow granades like you, something more that withe suit guys with SMGs and sometimes kevlar. An idea could be that they also upgrade their weapons and use drons like you, or be more tactic focused, like if they are 2 of them, one tries to destroy your soldiers cover and the other makes the damage (i know this will be hell to program). In the globsl map, they also could do some more tecnical things, like rob you of some funds, make a investigation or workshop proyect go slower or make some personal reach the base later.
3- Finally, they are more easy to gight than the aliens. The convoy mission where you ambush them is great in concept, but in the game is a super easy mission that gives you a lot of funds when completed.

...yeah, I was a little surprised at this last run, with how fast the cleaners were gone. I'd seen some of the missions like ambushing the convoy, and thought I was in for a few of those - but seems like shortly after, I found the headquarters.

Maybe make it harder to research, so you need several of the missions where you acquire evidence/data from computer terminals to cipher out the headquarters location?

I think the issue is how imbalanced the game economy is currently. You really cannot have multiple infantry squads and skyrangers active. Without that there is no real way you can have a lot more missions in the early game. If there were 2 or 3 cleaner missions active on the map at a time right now, each with a +20 panic level if failed, that would end the game very quickly.

The ambush mission needs some control over where you place your troops. With full reveal of enemy troops it is trivial to take all shotguns and end the entire mission on turn 1.

The recover soldiers mission would be nice as one to see repeated as it is a nice resource bump but not as crazy as $300k cash. It could be adjusted by giving cleaner guns instead of cash, or something (I got more accelerated rifles from the cleaner base than I'll ever need so clearly those can be given as loot instead of SMG's).

The VIP escort mission sucks in that there is only a couple of maps and once you've seen them all it is just the same tedious run across the same map.

Taking an idea from XCOM1 the the rival org sometimes crashed missions against the aliens. If you were to encounter cleaners coming to the aid of a crashed scout in the mid game that would be quite a twist.

I also agree that the cleaner section goes to fast. I was really hoping that if you don't take down the head quarters they would actually be a persistent threat. As it turns out, I only had the one mission after their base was discovered. That mission was the convoy ambush.

Please allow the cleaners to actual grow if you don't take down the headquarters. Let their tech improve, and please let them generate more missions. They are an interesting part of the game, and I would love to fight them longer than we currently can.
