at the later stage of the game you survive atleast 1 or 2 hits, so I found it to be better to have full TU to retaliate and/or reposition.
weight is also no big deal later in the game
You only name the advantages of the one not the disadvantages of the other. And the game seems to do exactly the same. What is the point in the advanced one? I only guess that maybe you can't "revive" stunned and/or uncounscious with the automated?
You can't treat others but until there is more mechanics inviting saving VIP's / civilians that is not really enough of a reason to bother. You also can not drop or move modules so you devote backpack space rather than carry it as a secondary.
1st: when bleeding, the damage will add while simultaneously being healed. So bleeding 2 will be stopped after you take 10hp damage; which is probably balanced, but disappointing.
2nd: the automatic heals seem to function like a 25hp battery. Once those are used up, it no longer functions (I could be wrong, maybe I just hit the cap of max healing after wound).
I considered having one guy with a standard (or advanced) med kit in the group, but meh.
