Is it possible to land with only 1 landing gear?

Yep, you can land normally, just put whatever gear is left down. It'll skid when you hit the runway, but it won't count as a crash and you'll keep your bomber and crew.

yup, trust me. It will happen a lot when your engine has low armor and go into high risk mission.

They're based on engine armour? Neat.

Wait do you think mission risk is based off of engine armor because if you that is not the case. Psyme is just saying that landing with one landing gear will be a normal occurrence on High and Very High Risk missions due to engines having low armor compared to the guns on the jets that you will run into on those missions.

lol just started playing, going threw forums just to see what people are saying, my last mission this happened to me :) landed fine, thou the plane was super damaged after it finally stopped. I am amazed at the detail in this little cheap game.

Yes. Your bomber might drift a little. Your engine might blow up or wing get shred away but it doesn't matter as long as everything else is intact. Repairing is free anyway.

Landing with one working gear CAN lead to a nasty crash; happened on my very first try. Your safest bet is to go in normally, then hit Emergency Landing when you're 50 yards from the runway. The bomber will dip to the side of the missing gear, the wing and engines will be damaged, but it's much safer for your crew.

I can confirm that landing on one wheel can explode your plane. I think if your wing is damaged enough, the damage passes to your bomb bay and kaboom.

Drop your bombs first and transfer your fuel. Landing on one gear has been safe for me so far. My plane structure has never been badly damaged though.

I was thinking he was saying that the protection on your landing gear is based on engine armour, actually.

Never had a successful single gear landing, will try the suggestion of dumping the bombs and transferring fuel.

I've linked this before, this is my best one wheel landing. The bombs were used up but I don't remember if I shifted fuel or not: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1239760551

So I had a few more failed 1 wheel landings but I had one success by clicking "emergency landing" 3 seconds before touchdown. I'll try that going forward.

Drop all bombs then hit emergency landing to lessen the chance of something going wrong. Dropping bombs is crucial tho.
