Best crew gear for Engineer at high elevation
Because I dont wanna experiment with my cherised crew:

What is the best gear for the Navigator on high altitude? Speed is most important and has to be as high as possible My engineer now has 143% speed, but only 6 thermal. Clothing her warmly enough eg with heated gloves/boots, will drop her speed (far) below 100%...

What are all your experiences/advices in this?

Also on high altitutes: What if i put a crew member with not enough warm clothes on the medical bed on high altitude? Will his freezing rate be higher than hs healing rate?

All your engineer will need is electric thermal mittens and thermal boots. Or the other way around. Then the rest of the clothing can be as light as possible. Still won't be as fast tho.

^this. I also like to give my engineer the combined flak/survival vest and make up for all the heavy stuff with a stylish beret. This keeps her at somthing like 66% move speed which is not amazing but OK. If I don't intend to go flying high, I swap the mittens and boots for speedy ones and then swap the beret for a Mk2 flak helmet.

I find a completely unarmored engineer is too vulnerable when applying first aid to the mid or tail gunner (which she does a lot).

I just go with the electric mittens, thermal boots, beret, and water survival vest since it doesn't weigh me down. I then generally keep my engineer on the front guns where they won't be shot at as much. Putting on a flak vest or something similar adds too much weight after the electric mittens imo.

I use a combined survival vest, berret, advanced O2 bottle, and thermal mittens and boots. This keeps her at 75% speed while also giving her peak high altitude performance and 30 water/land survivability. Engineers are never really in need of armor in my experience and 75% speed does well enough that they're never too late to stop a problem before it gets catastrophic.
