High altitude and thermal protection
How much thermal protection i need for flying in high altitude? I got 30-35, but they still freeze.

I've read from these forums that 40+ seems to be the breakpoint for high altitude flying though I can't confirm in game I focus a bit too much on armor to consider gearing my gunners in thermal to match the rest of the crew.

So the thermal protection has to be at 40? That's insane. What I mean by that is, that I've invested a lot in armour and I'm afraid of peeling off my dudes... Hm. A question of choice, as I understand.:lunar2020ratinablanket:

Tried it out now - thermal insulation of 36 degrees helps for a while, but really - it has to be 40+ to get through the whole mission in high altitude.

Electrically Heated Boots and Electrically Heated Mittens each provide 20 thermal protection. Combined, that's your 40. It leaves the Head and Body clear for armour or whatever you want. My least thermally protected crew have 43 and I have not had a problem ever with thermals after I got those two gear pieces. I can stay at high altitude all the way into the heart of the Rich and back still be fine. Good Luck.

All true. Another problem is movement. At least the engineer has to be able to move a bit.

If you have the secret weapons dlc, you. Can have a thermal flight suit. Otherwise use the jumpers for thermal. All other flight suits provide nothing.

I know I'm late to the discussion, but if you have the Secret Weapons DLC you can get a MK 3 Thermal flight suit then electrically heated mittens which is your forty for your engineer, leaving plimsolls for the boots which are very good for speed.

If you think what I'm saying is crazy just try it out. Hope this helped

Also, use the Blue Beret for even more speed
