Internal fires are crazy OP

I had my engineer sitting on an internal fire that broke out near my navigators seat for a good minute and literally this once small fire spread throughout the entire plane all while this engineer is sitting on it with a fire extinguisher. How are you supposed to deal with this? As far as I'm concerned the lvl2 equipment only lets you have more not necessarily better?

Protip: Emergency dives via pilot put out ALL fires, both engine and internal fires. Not sure if a bug or not, but it's saved my bacon more than once when I forgot to equip my crew with some internal extinguishers

I have had three fires. Lost two planes and two crews. I never seem to be aware of onboard fire until it is way too late. The one time i put it out i just got lucky and went internal for something other than. When a fire breaks out, the crew should squawk bloody murder and not STFU until its out period.

Your crewmembers will get a text balloon saying "something smells like it is burning" early on before fire is out of hand. Just have to watch for it. Plus I am constanstly hitting shift key to check the interior.

This. It's now 2023, 6 years later (sorry for necroposting btw), and they're still absolutely broken. 20 missions, I lost 5 planes. All 5 of them to fires. Just lost a good crew to one, even though I sent someone to pick up the fire extinguisher, there's literally no way to put them out? There's like nothing to click on to instruct them to fight the fire? Therefore, my engineer just walked around aimlessly and ultimately, I lost everything... yet again...

Engine fires AND cabin fires? Interesting if true.
