Ace Fighters Impossible to kill

I killed the first ace when I was massively over levelled and even that was hard to do. Now I'm on the second ace, it is what killed my last crew, I have tried power levelling them up but it doesn't help because this ace literally just kills my hydraulics instantly even with a maxed out armour and hydraulics systems and then they instantly kill any crew walking around. Its shooting fish in a barrel because it takes so long to repair the system and its making killing this ace genuinely impossible.
How the fk are you meant to do this, did i mention THIS IS ONLY THE SECOND ACE!
I feel aces shouldn't show up mid dangerous mission and instead should have been place in easy missions as a "oh no this place is undefended put an ace there" so we can hash out a 1 on 1 instead of getting flacked and all the rest of it too.

From what I remember, using Focus+Incendiary with my gunners took him down effectively enough. But I also remember getting lucky and encountering him in a 1 on 1 situation. It's just random chance if an ace is alone or with a group.
