Wouldn't be so much better that those names in memorial actually contain more information about those individuals - such as how many mission they flew, their position, how many bandit shot down, exp point, the name of plane they flew on, etc - like a complete profile?

now you see how vague memorials are and whatnot in real life eh? sadly i think it should remain as is. seeing as the menu and memorial are in a modern day setting, that stuff wouldnt really be listed, and especially with those who have already filled up the memorial with dead crewmen, the extra info would simply take up more space

I think the memorials should have more info as well.
What is the requirements to get a name on the memorial?
i dont rename my crew all the time so the names dont remind me (by themselves) what amazing things they did.
I reckon the memorials should be for the highest ranking (dead) crew for each role. It should have how many missions the person flew, how many planes it shot down, their rank, how they died (but we already know the engineer died when you forgot about him fixing the prop when you decide to corkscrew!),gow many missions they flew and if they killed any aces and boring stuff like their name and age.

It wouldn't need to be present on the face of the actual memorial but could be like an info pop-up kind of thing when you hover the mouse icon over them.
