how about a B-29?
it would be rather intresting to have a dlc based around the B-29. i dont know much about what planes the U.K. used in WWII but it would be intresting to see a B-29 implemented in a dlc. Especially to have a mission where you have to drop an atomic bomb (i know thats a contraversial subject but i find atomic bombs rather intresting). What do you think about this?

What would the gameplay be like? It couldn't be like the current game, since there was no air opposition to the nuclear bombing missions. I'm not certain about the armaments, but I believe the only weapons on board would have been the bombs, a tailgun, and the crews's sidearms. So altough terrible in scope, the nuclear bomb run would be easy in terms of mouseclicks.

Controversial, no doubt. I saw the Enola Gay restoration at the NASM in Washington DC. There are guards and protective shields around the plane since people regularly try to pelt the aircraft with stones and eggs. If the devs were to venture into this sort of thing, they'd have to balance it with a charity DLC like This War Of Mine, so that they aren't making money off of a holocaust.

At the museum, for whatever reason I have no idea, I paid fifty clams for a sealed photograph of Paul Tibbets that he had personally autographed. I put it on my wall partly to round out my collection of famous aircraft photographs and partly to remind myself of how war goes.

One day I am working, and the picture falls off the wall with a loud crash. That day was November 1, 2007. I saw on the news about an hour later that General Tibbets had just been reported dead.

Freaky.

B-29 missions wouldn't be restricted to atomic bombings. In fact that was a whole separate modification of the plane, the Silver Plate models. But the standard B-29 could carry 5,000-20,000 lbs of ordnance depending on distance and altitude, and absolutely had more than tail gun. Tail gun consisted of two 0.50 cals, two ventral turrets with two 0.50 cals in each, a dorsal turret with two 0.50 cals, and another dorsal turret with four 0.50 cals. They were all remote controlled too, with one gunner controlling up to two turrets at a time and a fire control officer managing the distribution of turrets among the other gunners during combat. I think it would would be really interesting to see in-game, would definitely play differently. They weren't used in Europe though.

Seems like they were used for either atomic bombing or firebombing. Both war crimes. So...yeah...

Actually neither were actual war crimes during WW2. There were no aerial bombing restrictions or conventions at the time. Being massive loss of civilian lives, a number of people feel they are war crimes. Not sure if they are today, but if nukes fly, no one will be really left to argue the point.

I discovered a website that detailed B29 missions and losses. Not very many B29's were deployed in WWII compared to other heavy bombers, but there were significant losses. A B29 mission would either be at extreme high altitude or for low-altitude raids. At high altitude, the Japanese had very little that could touch the B29, while at low altitude the B29 was prey to flak and fighters, predictably. A fair number of B29's also came down as the result of maintenance issues, I suppose since logistics for them would have been stretched to capacity and beyond.

OP wanted the nuclear option. I agree that nuclear weapons hold some fascination, since they are so powerful. I don't think there would be much gameplay in dropping a nuke in the Bomber Crew universe.
