<< Those who survive a long time on the PlayStation 2 start to think they're unportable. I bet you do, too, Buddy. >>

One of the best Ace Combat games and it's about time we got it on Steam (sadly only for preorders of AC8). It’s the perfect showcase of what makes the franchise great, stellar music, bonkers narrative and amazing set pieces. Thank you Project Aces for realizing your mistake by listening to the fans and turning the AC8 DLC into a separate game with its own achievements.

thanks for listening to players and making this pre order bonus a separate game

My copy of the game was provided by Bandai Namco as part of their content creator program.

Of course I recommend this game. How could I not? This is one of the classic games that made Ace Combat as much of a cult classic as it was before AC7 and AC8 really blew the doors wide open. I have hundreds of hours on Zero on the PS2, and I will be racking up many more on PS5 and here on PC.

Zero may not be my favorite of the PS2 "Holy Trinity" but my love for all three of them is really close to each other. I personally think the game is too short, and the ending feels very rushed, but Zero was developed in less than two years so it makes sense. That being said, while a single playthrough may be short, Zero features a ton of replayability. There are three variants of each mission, most of which are based on your Ace Style but some of which are based on your choice of what kind of mission you want (those latter ones technically also have Ace Style-specific lines, so technically nine mission variants in those cases). There's 169 Assault Records to hunt down named aircraft for, medals to unlock, skins to unlock, and more. It's quite a meaty amount of content in such a small game.

I do hope that one day, they can finally release this for individual purchase. It's a shame that the old games are constrained by license restrictions, in Ace Combat's case and all others, and I hope there'll be a solution for it. I hope everyone who did get a copy of this will enjoy it!
