There's also a guy who ripped a ton of assets from the game back in ~April. It's a lot of stuff: not just cool things like viewable card/map artwork, but also full data for environments, models, and levels. If enough talented people got together, they could eventually make an offline version from the ground up. We could definitely be playing this game again one day...
hmmm... now, there's an idea. perhaps a revival project could scavenge the remains and bring this game back? maybe not to it's previous full state but close enough to be worthwhile.
i know the revival project for the megami tensei mmo, Imagine (now called Reimagine) has been finished though the english translation nay not yet be 100% complete.
and there's a revival project for the mmo, Wizardry Online still WIP. i joined the discord server for that project back in 6/17/2019 and not long after they began making some REALLY fast progress with what they have and even have a test server now.
only thing is, those were pc MMO's...not...mobile... :/ though MFF was also available on steam...perhaps the steam version would be the one to go after and not the mobile version.
all i can say on such projects is... they're a maybe when they are attempted.
The game won't be 100% identical.
Not even 50%, if you take in account the changes that we planned to do.
The goal is to make a good game, supposed to make everyone remember Mobius, with the same story etc, but to change it a lot, and to keep it between fans to avoid legal issues.
Some features (A lot of them ) won't be there, sadly, but please note that the work to do is tremendous and Vrobetha is currently working on it mostly alone.
If you can support him in any way, feel free to find his discord on the reddit post.
Have a nice day !
er...if it's gonna be that different maybe change the name too? cause by the sound of it, that can't even be considered a revival project so much as it would be a fan game.
and on the topic of fan games... the lawyers of video game devs/pubs are merciless and uncaring when it comes to nuking fan projects. so, be careful there.
