Dreadmarch TD comes out on Steam on 2 November, as a full 1.0 release.

It's a tower defense game about holding one road through ten cursed lands, from the pine camps of Grimwood Frontier to the End of the World, and then past it. I've made it on my own, and it's finally ready.

• 50 stages across 10 zones. Each land has its own animated map and weather: a drowned graveyard, snowbound crags, a plain of lava veins under a dead sun, a red tide full of wrecks.

• A boss at the end of every zone. Ten of them, from the Thorn-Crowned Hart to the Last Eclipse, and each one has a trick of its own. The Drowned Bellkeeper raises the dead every time he tolls. The Hollow King calls his guard when he's half dead.

• Four towers, each with its own talent tree. Basic, Frost, Cannon and Sniper, plus five abilities to call in mid-battle: Rallying Cry, Vine Snare, Marked Prey, Banana Barrage and Last Stand.

• 18 kinds of enemy, from goblin scouts and dire wolves to stone golems, wraiths and scarab guards.

• Four difficulties, chosen once per save. Easy gives you 15 lives and lets almost any tower carry you. Insanity gives you 3 lives and bosses that were built to end runs.

• A campfire between marches. Rest there to take a favour into your next stage, hear a scouting report, or listen to the tales of the people you meet on the road.

• 205 achievements in the Hall of Honors, and Steam achievements are coming soon.

Clear stage 50 and the Maelstrom opens: endless waves at World's End strength, on a road that spirals in on itself. You build with Rift Shards that reset every descent and pick up boons as you go deeper. A descent saves between waves, so you can quit and pick it up later.

The Maelstrom has one difficulty for everyone, with 6 lives, so every depth on the board means the same thing no matter how you played the campaign.

The Steam leaderboards open on launch day. The Maelstrom has one ranking for everyone: how deep you held, and how many you slew in a single descent. The campaign keeps its own boards for each difficulty, with kills, bosses, flawless stages and victories. You can look at the top, at the players around you, or just at your friends.

The Steam edition reads the same save folder, so on the same machine your progress carries straight over.

It's still a game made by one person, so if something breaks, tell me and I'll fix it. Wishlist Dreadmarch TD and Steam will let you know the moment it's out.

Hold the road.
