DEX tree neurons / Success rate of altering with or without tools
Hey guys. love the game. im taking it mega slow but no rush necessary right lol

anyhow. my question might be stupid but i seem to cant figure out what half of the DEX tree does.

What does it mean "the success rate of alteration without and using a tool is increased.
frankly in all the hours i played, once i figured out what works and what not, i never ever, not even once had anything fail anyways. what is that tree even good for? its not even small. you can enhance this like 3 times or so for with and without tools.

the only real idea i would have is that i could theoretically "hold it longer" to the point where i would break, whatever i am currently altering, without these neurons but that mini-game is so easy and i kinda easily get into the rhythm when to let go of the button, that this tree seems way to elaborate to enhance the "failing margin" so to say. anyone know what that's really good for. i see no difference.

and regarding the rest of the tree. like:
where is the difference for example in :

reaction for escape and counter attacks are faster
vs
the margin of error is increased because more time is allowed.

isn't that basically the same thing. if i react earlier, i have more time to react aka more margin of error.

or for example:

reactions when facing a predator
vs
the preparation speed for dodging and counterattacking.

maybe its because i am not a native English speaker, but except the not perfect vocabulary and some spelling issues, i consider myself pretty efficient in the language. but these neurons in the DEX tree are beyond me somehow lol. maybe someone can shine some light on it :) cheers and happy evolving

So you know the sound cue that plays when it's time to release the action button? These pieces of text are referring to how long it takes for that to happen, and how long you have after the cue plays, respectively. So:

reaction for escape and counter attacks are faster
This means the cue plays sooner.

the margin of error is increased because more time is allowed.
This means you have more time to release the action button before it results in failure.

awesome. that makes sense. thank you ^^
but the Dexterity of alteration still is beyond me lol

the dexterity for striping from my experience make you less likely to fail the alteration
and the one with the tool one makes the success area after the sound appears longer this is only from my experience

i see. so its basically useless since i have never failed one of these anyways lol

kinda ye it makes it that u can only fail if u mean it but unlocking neurons for it anyway helps you get future mutation like one that makes you instantly alter items called manual alteration
